Kirigalpotta is the second highest mountain in Sri Lanka standing at 2,395 meters above sea-level. Located in the Nuwara Eliya district, west of the Horton Plains, it comprises many collections of endemic flora and fauna.
Some of the beautiful flora include the lovely Binara flower, and Maharathmal flower. Its interesting wild life include Deer, Horned chameleon, Jungle Fowl and many other beautiful animals could be found in this region.
Getting to this location is from the Horton Plains car-park area, then to the top of the forest and a trek for about 12 kilometers is about the closest route to be taken.
